Saturday, September 23, 3-5 PM Free with registration The Wadsworth welcomes teachers and retired teachers to an open house at no charge from 3-5 PM. Browse galleries and jump on a docent-led tour. There will be a space reserved with refreshments and art-making. Last chance to experience the exhibition I Am Seen...Therefore I Am, a cinematic gallery experience themed around the life and times of Frederick Douglass, paired alongside an exhibition of daguerreotypes. At 2 PM on Saturday, September 23, Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts at the University of California Santa Barbara, Daina Ramey Berry, illuminates Anna Murray Douglass, wife of the legendary abolitionist Frederick Douglass, as serving as a backbone of their family and catalyst for his freedom.
