CAEA ARTING OUT

CAEA recognizes the importance of connecting with our peers in a social setting. With this in mind, we have started ARTING OUT. 
Find free or low cost art related events, wear red and look for others to connect with and enjoy events.

Evening For Educators
Jan 30 @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Free Admission
The Wadsworth welcomes educators of all grade levels to hear what’s happening at the museum and how to connect students with visual art. Explore the galleries and two special exhibitions, Divine Geometry: Islamic Art at the Wadsworth Atheneum and Paper, Color, Line: European Master Drawings from the Wadsworth Atheneum. Make art, enjoy refreshments and a cash bar, and browse the Museum Shop. Museum staff are available to talk about field trips or partnerships. At 6pm, join the public lecture by Oliver Tostmann, Susan Morse Hilles Curator of European Art. Registration required at thewadsworth.org/teachers. School and Teacher Programs are made possible with the support of Travelers, the Lincoln Financial Foundation, and S&S Worldwide.

First Thursdays: Creative and Cozy

Escape into art with a new experience every month! Free admission, registration encouraged.
Cash bar, nibbles, live music, and more. Enjoy a night of creativity, crafts, and cocoa during one of the coldest months of the year! Listen to MATRIX 196 artist Steffani Jemison introduce her exhibition, sample our hot cocoa bar, and relax to live guitar with Joel Weik and Karl Messerschmidt. Bring your knitting project, pick up a coloring book, or enjoy a board game. Paint your own mug with the Firestone Art Studio + Café then stay for a screening of 1-800-ON-HER-OWN at 7:30pm.

THIRD SATURDAYS
Saturday, March 15 | 10 am to 5 pm
​Free Admission
Visit the Museum for FREE the third Saturday of every month as part of our Third Saturdays program. Participate in a Story Time at 10:30 am, a Discovery Tour of Martha Diamond: Deep Time, A Garden of Promise and Dissent, and Wen Liu: Tame Tangle at 1 pm, and drop-in to The Studio for art-making activities.
